Earthquake Relief Fund
This is a serious disaster for the weavers and the region. A 7.8 quake, centered near Montecristi, rocked the region on April 16, 2016. Serious aftershocks followed. 21 quakes in a single week, 46 in a 30-day period.People dared not sleep indoors. Businesses closed, so even those with jobs no longer had paychecks. We are focusing our efforts in the tiny village of Pile, where the finest hats are woven.We have already begun to buy and distribute food to those who are most affected. Aid is not limited to weavers. People are people. Hunger is hunger. And people need to eat every day. So we need to keep distributing food. Please help.
